Most TITAN self-storage customers visit their local warehouse to store goods, but when a housing association needed help during renovation work, we bent the rules.
THE CHALLENGE
A housing association in Copenhagen, which was responsible for the care of seven apartment buildings, contacted us to see how we could help with a particular problem. They had committed to renovating the basements in all of these buildings – a process that would take many years. Did we have any way of enabling the tenants to move the goods they kept in their basements to some kind of local storage facility during the work ?
THE SOLUTION
Working with the housing agency and local authorities, we have put together a plan to relocate over 15 secure storage containers to a piece of available land next to the properties in question. This temporary self-storage solution would allow tenants to easily move their goods to a nearby warehouse and access their assets at any time .
This was the first time we had been asked to provide temporary storage in this way. Typically, people would go to one of our secure self-storage centers , which are located a short distance from their home. However, the solution we came up with is a system that clearly works. We can now offer this innovative temporary storage solution to TITAN customers around the world , if circumstances require it (and logistics allow).
THE TRADITION
Unlike some container companies, TITAN only uses genuine shipping containers as their self-locking storage systems. This means they are rock solid and built to last for decades. They are the ideal, secure self-storage solution.
We arrived at the site exactly on schedule and began loading the containers in a linear fashion, with the doors facing outwards. This ensured that the tenants could enter and exit with ease .
THE RESULTS
Although the renovation work is still ongoing, customer feedback indicates that the temporary solution we have come up with is working flawlessly and we hope to announce the final verdict on this commitment soon. There is a good chance that this special storage arrangement will be repeated soon. With space in cities being scarce and expensive, who knows where self-storage solutions of this kind may spring up next ?
